PetroPlan is a software system for simulating a petroleum refinery operation. By performing block by block calculations, all streams (crude oils, intermediate products and blended products) flowing between refinery blocks (e.g. crude unit, FCC) are calculated. Each block uses a set of non linear equations to predict yields, product properties and utility consumption. The crude unit is an integral part of the simulation and its yields are based on assays and user specified cut temperatures. Linear programming technique is used to determine the optimum allocation of components into finished products that meet desired quality specifications. A built-in optimizer will vary selected block variables to maximize the overall profit.
PetroPlan offers a quick and clean graphic approach to refinery modeling. Whether you are evaluating new facility additions, grassroots refineries, alternate feedstocks or planning refinery operations, this is the software tool that will let you complete the job in the least time with the least headaches. In most situations PetroPlan will produce more accurate simulations than traditional LP based tools and spreadsheets and other flowsheet simulators - with much less effort.
